Vigna Trecci

Vigna Trecci
A Heritage Preserved
The story of Vigna Trecci begins inside the historic cellars of the noble Trecci family’s Palazzo in Montepulciano, where an old winemaking recipe from the late 19th century was rediscovered. From those same family vineyards, we set out to recreate a wine that would remain faithful to this tradition.
The original plantings, dating back to the 1940s, had been left in total abandonment. Paradoxically, this preserved ancient grape clones that had almost disappeared. Through vineyard restoration including dendrosurgery to remove mal dell’esca and with the help of the San Michele all’Adige Institute, we identified each clone, checked for viruses, and preserved them through massal selection and grafting onto cut-back vines.
Today, those same historic clones of Prugnolo Gentile (Sangiovese), Canaiolo, Mammolo, Colorino, Trebbiano Toscano, and the rare Pulci in Culo grow in perfect harmony with the unique microclimate of San Bartolomeo di Caselle, nurtured by the biodiversity surrounding Parco Villa Trecci.

Vigna Trecci Bianco
Produced from Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia, Vigna Trecci Bianco is made following traditional methods: no maceration, aging in glass demijohns, and bottling without filtration. The first vintage, 2023, yielded only 120 bottles.
